The Lady Hawk varsity faced yet another tough Sea View League opponent in the Capistrano Valley Cougars, falling behind again quickly before finally losing 19-7 at home on Thursday night.

The Cougars entered the contest ranked fourth in the county in the latest OC Register poll and backed it up with a barrage of offense in the first half resulting in a 13-3 score at the half.

The Lady Hawks rallied in the second half to make it respectable despite playing without several starters. Juniors Jen Aufill and Vanessa Martinez led the offense with two goals each, while Natalie Hart, Sarah Makepeace and Melanie Traylor each added single goals.

On defense, Cat Munoz had 5 saves on 12 shots on goal before leaving the game at the half due to injury. Jamie Steele filled in bravely in the nets for the second half in her debut as goalie, posting one save on six shots.
